KCP (MC) triggers bomb, woman hurt, two houses destroyed

Imphal, January 21, 2011:
A bomb planted by KCP (MC) Lalheiba group exploded tonight around 9.32 pm at Telipati under Porompat Police station, Imphal East, injuring a woman and damaging two houses.
Fifteen minutes after the explosion, a telephone call from a person who identified himself to be a member of the KCP (MC) Lalheiba group owned up the blast saying that it was triggered by a special demo team of Lanjaba unit of its Kangleipak Fingang Lanmi (KFL).
Fifty-five year old Anjuria wife of Rajendra Prasad of Telepati sustained minor injuries in back of her head.
She has been discharged after medical treatment in a hospital in Imphal.
One of the house destroyed belongs to Rajendra Prasad while the other one belongs to one Radhakrishna (65).The two houses lie adjacent.
The major portion of Rajendra's house was damaged in the blast which also damaged some portion of Radhakrishna's house.
An Ambassador car (MN04-0094) and a Jeep (MNS-2088) in his garage were also damaged.
It is reproted that the bomb was triggered through remote control though the police is yet to ascertain the facts.
A crater of around six feet by three feet was formed by the blast the sound of which rocked Imphal area.
Houses at Soibam Leikai, a neighouring locality, shook with the impact of the blast, residents informed.
Police rushed to the spot and intensified frisking and checkings on the main roads.
There are no reports of any arrest so far.
