Sadar hills team date with Patil today

A team of Sadar Hills leaders led by Hill Areas Committee Chairman and Kangpokpi AC MLA Thangminlen Kipgen are currently at New Delhi with the objective to call on President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P Chidambaram and lobby for upgrading Sadar Hills to the status of a full fledged district.
The team which includes Saitu AC MLA Haokholet Kipgen and Saikul AC MLA Doukhomang Khongsai will meet President Pratibha Patil at 11 am tomorrow.
The other members of the team will include a former MP from Sadar Hills, former MLAs and all the members of the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council.
The chairman of the Sadar Hills Chief's Association will also be a part of the team as well as two VPs and the secretary of SHDDC.
In the afternoon, the same team will call on Home Minister P Chidambaram with the same agenda of Sadar Hills district.
On August 18, the team is set to call on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and seek his intervention into the present agitation being spearheaded by the SHDDC and instruct the State Government to declare Sadar Hills a full fledged district of Manipur without any delay.
