Aid to stranded passengers

Imphal, August 16 2011:
Volunteers of Zeliangrong Students' Union (Longmai), Longmai bazar Board and Longmai Area Village Authority Council have been provided shelter and refreshment to over 80 passengers, currently stranded at Noney due to the ongoing agitation in connection with the demand for upgrading Sadar Hills to a revenue district.
It in informed that passengers in buses coming from Jiribam toward Imphal are stranded in Noney awaiting arrival of security escort party.
The assistance will continue as till the passengers proceed safely under security cover, said a volunteer.
