New Delhi, September 02 2014:
The Naga People's Movement for Human Rights today staged a silent demonstration in New Delhi , condemning the Ukhrul incident.
The NPMHR questioned the Govt of Manipur on the blanket imposition of 144 CrPC without providing any reasonable grounds.
The NPMHR further stated that the MPC and IRB are two units known for their high handedness, human rights abuse and atrocities towards civilians.
As these two forces have no training on maintenance of law and order, deploying them to maintain public order is not their duty and priority, the NPMHR stated.

The demonstrators held a silent prayer for the departed souls and demanded for immediate revoke of Cr PC, to conduct an impartial and speedy inquiry.
Holding responsible for the incident , the NPMHR also called for resignation of the State Chief minister .
Meanwhile, Chief Minister is slated to arrive late in the evening today and will hold meeting with the Union Home Minister tomorrow.
Moreover the Naga Student Union Delhi will be holding a public protest rally tomorrow in New Delhi.
