Weapons recovered in joint operations

Imphal, March 19 2025:
In a series of operations, Indian Army and Assam Rifles formations under Spear Corps launched intelligence-based operations in Chandel, Imphal West, Kakching and Thoubal districts on March 12 and 13 in coordination with Manipur police, CRPF, BSF and ITBP and recovered 50 weapons, improvised devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
Security forces also destroyed bunkers in Kangpokpi district.
According to PRO IGAR (S), intelligence based operations in general area of Laijang in Chandel district by Indian Army and Assam Rifles resulted in recovery of 36 weapons comprising 23 improvised mortars (pompi), three AK series weapons, one INSAS, one Carbine, two muzzle loaded rifle, one 0.303 rifle, five pistols, ammunition and war like stores.
Similarly, in Thoubal district, an intelligence-based search operation launched by Assam Rifles and Manipur police resulted in recovery of two 9 mm carbine, one 12 bore rifle, one single bore barrel rifle (SBBL) and three pistols.
Three weapons comprising one each mortar, 12 bore rifle and pistol were recovered in Singjamei area in Imphal West district in a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur police.
In general area of Wangoo in Kakching district, a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police resulted in recovery of one carbine, one 0.303 rifle and two single barrel rifles, the PRO informed, adding, the recovered items have been handed over to Manipur police.
