Imphal, December 01 2023: Police on Friday destroyed illegal poppy plants found growing in 30 acres area in Tangkhul Hundung village, Mapithel hill range in Ukhrul district, according to a press statement issued by police control room on Friday.

It further informed that 288 and 293 vehicles carrying essential items reached Imphal along NH 37 and NH2 respectively under security cover.

Strict security measures are being taken up in vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe passage of the vehicles.

A total of 141 checkpoints were installed in different districts both in hills and valley, and police detained 335 persons for violation of rules.
