SFs recover arms and ammos, nab insurgents

Imphal, March 19 2025:
Security forces conducted search operations in different areas and recovered cache of arms and ammunition besides rounding out members of different armed groups.
In a release, Manipur police control room informed that seven weapons and 44 ammunition of different weapons along with tactical gears were recovered from Aripat under Nongpok Sekmai police station in Thoubal district on Tuesday; 11 weapons and 67 ammunition with tactical gears from Ngariyan hill range under Andro police station on March 17; 12 weapons and 15 ammos from Uyok forest under Nambol police station; four weapons from Loitang Sandum hill range under Sekmai police station on March 17; four weapons and 41 ammunition from Heikrumakhong, Khabeisoi and Heingang Khong under Heingang police station on March 15; one weapon with 11 magazines and tactical gears from Pukhao Santipur hill area under Sagolmang police station on March 13 and 12 weapons; and 11 ammos from adjoining area between Wahengkhuman and Shantipur under Wangoi police station on March 13.Meanwhile, five weapons, 10 ammunition and tactical gears were recovered by security forces from Dampi hill range under Churachandpur police station on March 14.On the other hand, security forces arrested an active member of the proscribed KCP (PWG) identified as Ningthoujam Sushil Meitei alias Kangla alias Ishingchaoba (50) from near Langthabal Kunja Mamang Leikai Konsam Oil Pump on Tuesday and two cadres of another group identified as Khundrakpam Michael Singh (33) from Ningthoukhong Kha Ward no.7 and Laishram Tomba (33) from Haoreibi Mayai Leikai on March 17.One each 9mm pistol with magazine, AK round, 7.62mm round; four 9mm ammos and two .303 round hidden near FCI warehouse complex at Sangaiprou, a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card were seized from Khundrakpam Michael Singh, while a mobile phone each were recovered from Ningthoujam Sushil and Laishram Tomba.
Michael and Tomba were involved in extortion activities.
Three active cadres of the proscribed RPF/PLA were also arrested from different areas.
Of the three one identified as Lourembam Brojen Singh alias Dyson (50) was arrested from near Langol Game Village Zone III Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation along with recovery of two mobile handsets, a two-wheeler and an Aadhaar card on March 17 .
Another cadre identified as Thokchom Diamond Meitei alias Tamthouba (26) was rounded out from Langmeidong Mamang Leikai under Kakching police station along with a mobile phone and a wallet containing with Rs 320 in cash on March 14 while Thokchom ongbi Anita Devi (46) of Sagolband Kurao Makhong under Lamphel police station was arrested on March 13 with one pistol and a magazine, 19 9mm rounds, 15.38 ammunition, Rs 5,000, two Jio Sim cards, three Air-tel 5G plus Sim cards and six mobile phones.
Thokchom Diamond was involved in extortion from staffers of schools in Langmeidong area.
A suspected cadre of the Koireng-led UNLF identified as Moirangthem Ricky Singh was arrested by security forces from the area between border pillar no 85 and 86 in Tengnoupal district on March 13 .
Security forces also arrested an active cadre of PREPAK identified as Laishram Bishor-jit Meitei alias Yuremba (33) from Sekmaijin Ningolkhong area on March 12 .
