BAAL appeals for safe return of missing youth

Bishnupur, March 19 2025:
Bishnupur Akoiba Apunba Lup (BAAL) has appealed to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh to ensure safe return of Luwangthem Mukesh Das (20), son of L Gyanendra Dash of Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, who has been missing since March 16 .
Addressing the media at its Bishnupur office on Wednesday, BAAL Women s Wing vice president N Bimola stated that the missing youth was captured on CCTV at Nambol Bazar at 3:16 pm on March 16, from there he was seen heading towards Old Cachar road at 4:40 pm, after which his last known location was tracked through his mobile in Joujangtek area after he crossed Chini Ingkhol.

She continued that a meeting in connection with the missing youth was held between hill CSOs, BAAL members and Bishnupur SP on March 17 .
Contending that the youth has gone missing due to duty negligence by a unit of central paramilitary force stationed at Ngariyan Thel, Bimola also recounted that a similar incident of two students missing from same area had happened in the past.
She then urged the Governor and the DGP to trace the missing youth and replace the para military force unit from Ngariyan Thel with any non-partisan security force, so that such incidents do not recur.
The press conference was also attended by Women's Wing president O Bina Devi, joint secretary Th Sundari and secretary T Bikram.
