Thamchet High School tops FLN-TLM fair

Imphal, May 16 2024:
The state-level FLN-Teaching Learning Material (TLM) Mela 2023-24 was organised by Samagra Shiksha (Elementary) State Project Office at Samagra Shiksha, Babupara on Wednesday.
In the fair, Thamchet High School, Imphal East bagged the first position, while Eastern Ideal High School, Imphal East and Lamdeng High School, Imphal West secured second and third position respectively.
Speaking as the chief guest, Education (S) commissioner H Gyan Prakash highlighted the importance of foundational literacy and numeracy in education, with the children being the target audience.
As such, the central government had launched Nipun Bharat in this regard.
He continued that the fair aimed to provide a platform to enable the teachers to break the confines of his/her school with regard to TLM and utilise each other TLMs to increase their and the people's knowledge.
The TLMs presented in the fair are cost effective and beneficial for students, he added.

Education (S) director and Samagra Shiksha (Elemen tary) state project director L Nandakumar lauded the commitment of teachers in preparing the TLMs in the interest of students.
The objective of TLM is to enable students to gain knowledge not just from textbooks but from various other resources in an easy manner.
While the government is unable to provide TLMs to all schools, the teachers have become highly innovative for their students, he remarked.
The fair was also attended by Samagra Shiksha additional project director Soraisham David; finance controller Bobby Singh Moirangthem and Directorate of Education (S) chief finance officer Sanatombee Bachaspatimayum as guests of honour.
