Imphal, June 18 2015 :
Literally taking a U-turn from its earlier decision to sit on the Opposition bench in all ADCs, BJP Manipur Pradesh is reportedly under hectic negotiations with NPF to form Autonomous District Council in Tamenglong district .
A well placed source informed that NPF and BJP have forged an alliance under the banner Democratic Alliance in order to prevent Congress from forming the Council in Tamenglong.
Notably, Congress party won the maximum number of seats in Tamenglong ADC.
They won 10 seats while NPF and BJP won eight and five seats respectively.
One independent candidate also got elected.
In addition to the five seats they won in Tamenglong, BJP won one seat in Ukhrul, two in Chandel, four in Sadar Hills, eight in Senapati and one in Churachandpur.
Although they won more seats in Senapati, it is of little use as far as forming the ADC is concerned for NPF with 11 elected Members is poised to form the council there.
Although it was none other than BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba who ruled out alliance with any other party, the party has forged an alliance with NPF overlooking all the bitter tirades targeted against each other in the run up and during the ADC election in order to prevent Congress from forming the council in Tamenglong.
