Imphal, June 18 2015 :
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba that the party will give tickets to those candidates whose chances of winning are high.
This response came after there has been strong speculation to who the party will give tickets for the upcoming by-elections, after the joining of the three disqualified Trinamool MLAs to BJP.
Speaking exclusively to NNN Th Chaoba further said that it is indeed fortunate for the party to have politicians joining in to BJP as it proves the love and support that the party is enjoying.
He however ruled out deciding the allotment of tickets yet as it is too early.
It may be mentioned that the three new entrants to the party, namely Kh Joykishan of Thangmeiband, Th Bhishwarjit of Thongju and O Lukhoi of Wangoi AC were disqualified from being MLAs under 10th Schedule for their anti-party activities by the Tribunal Court of the Manipur Legislative Assembly on May 27 last.
Now the sticky situation that has been coming up to the party is even though Joykishan had joined the party, there is strong contender for the party ticket in the form of Meinam Bhorot which has been an important party leader and an ex-president of BJP Manipur Pradesh.
To make matters worse, the Imphal Central District office of BJP was recently opened at Thangmeiband constituency under the initiative of Kh Joykishan.
In the inaugural function, BJP National Executive Tapir Gao had even compared Joykishan as the Narendra Modi of Thangmeiband AC, a compliment which signals the rising strength of Joykishan inside the party circuit.
This has resulted into huge misunderstanding and conflict amongst the BJP workers of the constituency.
On the other hand, RD and PR Union Minister Nihal Chand had visited to the residence of former-MLA Th Bishwajeet of Thongju AC yesterdat and attended a public meeting there with BJP members.
Party workers of this constituency is also having a conflict as there is already Dr S Dhananjoy, ex-Speaker, as a prominent BJP aspiring candidate all these while.
Likewise in Wangoi constituency too, strong conflict arose between the new entrant O Lukhoi and ex-MLA Salam Joy for the party ticket.
In such a situation, the remark made by BJP state president Th Chaoba expressing the party's desire to give tickets to candidates to who may win, may be taken very seriously and as a meaningful one.
Various political analysts are also opining that there may be huge unwanted issues regarding this at the time of the three by-elections.
