Thoubal, April 07 2025:
The irregular power supply from the 400 KV Thoubal Khunou power sub-station has left the district's denizens grappling with frequent outages, despite the presence of a backup sub station.
The erratic power supply in the district has also shattered the people's hope for improvement of power situation after the imposition of President's Rule in the state.
When inquired about the frequent power outages, authorities explained that the disruptions are due to power switched off from the State Load Dispatch Centre.
The 400 KV power sub-station supplies power to the 33/11 KV substations in Thoubal, Heirok, Wangjing, Khongjom, Moirangpali, Yairipok, and Leishangthem, and further distributed to the consumers.
Although officials claim that the outages are caused by a burnt panel at the 400 KV sub-station, it is noteworthy that an alternative 132/33 KV power sub-station in Kongba stands as a backup.
