In a message, Dr Linus Neli expressed hope for God's love and peace to shine upon all men and women, who have suffered violence and unrest, particularly in the present times.
Tribal Youth Council Manipur, General Headquarters (TYCM-GHQ) also extended Christmas greetings, wishes and tidings to all the 'beloved' citizens of the state who are besieged by over 18-month-long ethnic carnage, the worst that the state has ever witnessed.
In a statement, the Council urged all to contribute to making this year's Christmas celebrations a game changer for the embattled people of the state.
"Let us forgive and forget the bitterness, enmity and hatred for one another and reach out to everyone with love, forgiveness and equanimity so that a new, prosperous, peaceful and inclusive Manipur can emerge," the Council pleaded.
Meanwhile, conveying best wishes for a joyous Christmas celebration and abundant happiness in the New Year, Catholic Congress of St Paul's Parish, Liwa Changning, general secretary Ng Koringam Cornelius Moyon stated that Christmas is a season for and renewed inspiration from Christ's universal message of peace on earth, goodwill toward men.
As the blessed season unfolds, he called for sharing the gift of God's love, re-living the profound and universal lessons that Jesus taught mankind about loving one's neighbours as oneself.
Cornelius Moyon also stated that beautiful words such as love, peace, joy and hope are all woven though human traditions.
"As we celebrate this Christmas, let us resolve to build a future where all people learn to love one another and live together in harmony, where all children know true joy; and where our hope for peace, freedom and prosperity for all are a reality," he stressed.
