People greeted on Imoinu Iratpa Numit

Governor Anusuiya Uikey, chief minister N Biren Singh and education minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh have extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Imoinu Iratpa Numit which falls on Monday.
In her message, Governor Anusuiya noted that the people of Manipur, especially the Meetei brethren observe Ima Imoinu puja (Goddess of Wealth) to mark the return of the indigenous Meetei deity to the residence of her daughter-in-law Piyainu.
However, Imoinu Puja/Festival is celebrated at different places of the state with different flavours, she added.
"I join the people of Manipur in the celebration of Imoinu Pujah and pray that this Pujah may bring peace and prosperity to the state," the Governor wished.
In his message, chief minister N Biren lamented that the state is passing through a tumultuous period with vested interest groups attempting to disrupt the fabric of peaceful co-existence among different communities.
The unprecedented conflict has disrupted all developmental and economic activities, breaking the developmental momentum which we had all become Accustomed to witness in the state during the past few years, Biren said.
"As we seek blessings from the Goddess, let us also join hands to rid Manipur of all the evils shackling us, preventing us from achieving what we could have achieved through our collective determination and grit.
Let Ima Imoinu shower peace and prosperity on the people of the state in the days ahead.
May the day bring emotional integrity among our various communities," N Biren wished.
Education minister Th Basanta, Kumar Singh also conveyed that Imoinu Iratpa celebrated with traditional gaiety and religious fervour on the twelfth day of Wakching of Manipuri lunar calendar keeps alive our tradition and beliefs and also reinforces a culture of working hard and saving for the future.
He wished the people of the state peace, prosperity and happiness.
