Time to instil patriotism among youth: Sanajaoba

Rajya Sabha MP and titular king Sanajaoba Leish-emba has stressed the need for instilling the spirit of patriotism and nationalism amongst the youth through films, dramas, plays, songs and other forms of media.
He made the statement while releasing a song book, "Paojel Puba Ishei" penned by Bimolchandra, at Manipur Press Club, here, on Thursday.
Leishemba said that the once powerful Meetei society is now facing factionalism, disunity and disharmony.
The youth are lacking moral and spiritual values, which is leading to occurrence of unwanted incidents.
On top of these, we are very cynical and critical of others doing good things.
This is neither good for the society nor for the people.
Thus, there is the need to remove the negative shadow on the society, for which authors and writers have to play an important role, he asserted.
The function was also attended by AMMIK president and CoHSEM ex-secretary Dr Hamom Naba and ICCRNEZ zonal director Ningthoujam Munish Singh.
As part of the function, the audience were enthralled with choreography of the song, Hey Ima Manipur', produced bv CBC, RO under AKAM.
On the other hand, the final volume of "Madam", a novel by ex-MLA Meinam Bharat was released in a simple function held at the Loktak hall of Manipur Press Club, here, on Thursday.
The book release function was attended by Lamlai AC MLA Khongbantabam Ibomcha Singh as president, Manipur University School of Humanities ex-dean professor Nahakpam Aruna as chief guest and Pravabati College assistant professor Dr Maya Nepram as guest of honour.
