AMADA observes 8th foundation day

All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA) celebrated its 8th foundation day at is Keishampat office on Thursday.
In his key note address, Ph Phoni, Secretary of AMADA expressed serious concern over the problem drug menace in Manipur and observed that AMADA has been making an effort to eradicate the problem for the last eight years.
He also appealed to all the people to support and cooperate in its future endeavors against drug.
Superintendent of Narcotic Control Bureau, Imphal R K Ibosana, who attended the function Chief Guest, said that intoxicants have surrounded all the people to destroy the society.
So, it is necessary to make the people aware of the harmful impact of drugs in the society.
Guests of honour of the function and Director of Law and Prosecution, Ng Tejkumar noted that since the problem of drug has remained despite the efforts made by various organizations for the last many years, it is high time for the organizations working in the field to review their course of actions.

H Angomcha, Psychiatric, Bishnupur District Hospital and another Guest of Honour of the function highlighted the need for a multi-pronged approach for preventing drug abuse instead of giving punishment to users.
President of United Manipur Muslim Development, Anwari Nurjahan, who also attended the function as Guest of Honour, said that some of the politicians and public servants are involving in drug business.
So, it has been difficult to solve the problem of drug in the society.
