Imphal, December 20 2012:
The two-day long 3rd session of 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly, which concluded today, failed to discuss the Censure Motion, for which Opposition MLA Dr I Ibohalbi had earlier served a notice through the Assembly Secretary.
Speaking to media persons in this regard after the Assembly session, Dr Ibohalbi stated that whether the Censure Motion was rejected or accepted was not made known to him at all.
Not even bringing up the motion for discussion is really unfortunate.
Dr Ibohalbi maintained that he had served the notice through the Assembly Secretary for taking up a Censure Motion against Fishery and Agriculture Minister Md Abdul Nasir, in the interest of the general public and also to save the image of Manipur.
But it seems that Manipur State Assembly has been reduced to a sitting place for all kinds of criminals.
This is really unfortunate.
Undeterred by the rejection, the MLA assured that he would be bringing up the issue on the floor of the House again.
