Altogether 5,71,469 households of the State have opened their bank accounts under the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) .
The total number of households surveyed for the scheme is 5,84,318 .
Out of them, 5,71,469 households have opened bank accounts and 1,84,793 account holders have been given debit cards, informed an official source.
These accounts are divided among 28 private and Government banks operating in Manipur.
So far, Rs 6,90,87,056 have been transacted through the bank accounts opened anew under PMJDY.
Of the total number of households surveyed, 4434 households in urban areas are yet to open their bank accounts and another 8415 households in rural areas.
It was reported that four banks could not complete the process of PMJDY bank accounts within the stipulated period.
