According to the victim, identified as RK Basuraj s/o RK Sanatomba of Khongman Basikhong, he had lodged an FIR at Imphal police station regarding the incident on February 6 .
He said that he was stopped by a police team numbering around seven at Moirangkhom when he was returning home from work with one of his friends in his car on February 5 night.
The police team, who were on a frisking duty, were led by ASI Sarat, he said.
RK Basuraj added that soon after they came down from his car, one of the police personnel snatched away their belongings including mobile phones and wallets without uttering any word.
Later, Basuraj was beaten up and hit with rifle butt without any reason, he alleged.
The police team also forced Basuraj's friend Ramcharan to run around holding a rifle without magazine.
Police also captured the whole incident in their mobile phone, Basuraj said.
As they thought that they would be killed in a fake encounter, both of them somehow managed to escape from the clutches of the police team by running away as fast as they could.
As the police did not chase the duo, they went inside a pan shop and received first aid there, he added.
From there, they made a call to one of his friends from the phone of the pan shop owner, he said and added that he was rushed to RIMS hospital after his friend came there.
Basuraj added that they later went straight to Imphal police station to lodge a complaint about the incident.
However, police asked them to come the next day, he added.
As such, they went to Imphal police station the next day and filed an FIR bearing number 48(2) 2015 IPS under Section 326/34 IPC, he said.
Basuraj urged the authority concerned to take stringent action against the policemen, who had beaten him up black and blue.
