MLA lauds extension of free ration scheme

Even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced extension of free ration scheme for five more years and brought relief to the underprivileged section of the society across the country, rice meant for the people of Thangmeiband AC for September and October months this year are yet to be released, stated Thangmeiband MEA Kh Joykisan.
Addressing media persons at his Khoyathong residence, here, on Monday, Joykisan said he was elated when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced extension of free ration to every NSFA card holders of the country for another five years.
"Being a worker of the ruling party, I felt proud when the party's leader took such a bold step for welfare of the people.
Irrespective of party affiliation, every citizen of the country should laud welfare schemes being taken up for the poor people by PM Narendra Modi.
However, NSFA card holders of Thangmeiband AC are yet to get free ration (rice) for the months of September and October this year," Joykisan said, adding that he is raising the matter an elected representative in the interest of the suffering people.
Just after getting some respite from the COVID-19 pandemic, entire people of Manipur are now stuck in ethnic unrest since May 3 and are enduring innumerable problems now.
The unrest hit each and every section of the society and it is well known among the people that the state government is working hard to contain the violence by taking up some steps which could not be avoided.
Ban on internet might have caused some problem in communication but we have to face the inconvenience, he.said and appealed to ANSAM to lift the economic blockade being called against the internet ban.
He also said that hardships caused by economic blockade is much more than inconveniences due to internet ban.
According to Kh Joykisan, security advisor Kuldiep Singh should utilise maximum force to nab culprits involved in the killing of Moreh SDPO Ch Anand Kumar as he had already declared that killers have been identified.
He also said that the SDPO killing case must be handed over to NIA and befitting action must be taken up against anti-nationals who are disturbing peace and tranquillity or else they will continue to cause unwanted incidents in future.
