Imphal, May 19 2025: Despite the initial hiccups on the successful holding of the Shirui Lily Festival at Ukhrul and Shirui village from May 20 to May 24, many are set to join the Lily Festival which has made a comeback after a lull of some years.

Dedicated bus service : The Transport Department has arranged dedicated bus service between Imphal and Ukhrul from May 20 to 25 in connection with the Shirui Lily Festival 2025.A press release issued by Transport Director Khumanthem Diana said that three buses will ply between ISBT, Imphal East and Shirui Public Ground, Ukhrul with the first bus leaving ISBT at 7 am and Shirui Public Ground at 1.30 pm.

The second bus will leave ISBT at 7.30 am and Shirui Public Ground at 2 pm.

The third bus will leave Imphal (ISBT) at 8.15 am and start its return journey from Shirui Public Ground at 2.30 pm.

The bus fare is Rs 200 per passenger, it added.

YAS Dept to join Shirui Lily Fest : The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) would participate in the Shirui Lily Festival 2025 and it will be hosting a series of youth empowerment initiatives, fitness and creative activities under the theme "Empower, Engage, Energize".

The department's pavilion at the festival will serve as a hub of dynamic engagement featuring an inclusive food entrepreneurship stall, fitness challenges and demonstrations, sporting challenge featuring multiple Guinness Book of World Records holder Yambem Gobin Singh known for his elbow strikes of 275 knocks achieved in one minute, 30 seconds.

The pavilion will also host youth fitness competition featuring Guinness Book of World Records holder Laithangbam Bidyasagar Singh known for four-finger 85 push-ups in one minute, live sketch sessions, blank canvass (Your Creative Space) messaging campaign, tree plantation drive, volunteering & clean-up drives and trekkers guidance and refreshment distribution by YAS volunteers, according to a press release issued by YAS Director Dr Mayengbam Veto Singh.

Media team: Media persons who wish to cover the inaugural function of the Shirui Lily Festival 2025 may board a bus departing for Ukhrul from the DIPR office at 6 am sharp on May 20, the DIPR has informed.

The bus will return the same day in the afternoon at around 2.30 pm, it added.

The DIPR further informed that packed breakfast will be arranged at the time of departure, and lunch will be arranged at the main venue of the festival in association with UDWJA .
