Imphal, January 31 2025: As part of the Scientific Journalism Programme of Public Relations and Media Management Cell (PRMM) of Central Agricultural University (CAU) organised every year, a one-day orientation cum interaction programme on 'Artificial Intelligence and its tools' was held on Friday at CAU headquarters, Lamphelpat.

Poknapham daily's senior reporter Thongam Prem-chand, Sangai Express reporter Samita Konsam and IMPACT TV news reporter Bhakta Tourangbam, who have been selected as fellow for 5th Scientific Journalism Programme of PRMM, took part in the interaction programme, among others.

During the interactive session held at the mini conference hall of CAU headquarters, assistant professor Dr Navanath Saharia of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur presented a power-point presentation and video illustration on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how AI could be applied in agriculture and allied sectors in the changing modern technologies.

Regarding the programme, PRMM head and CAU information and publicity officer Indira Thounaojam said that Dr Navanath Saharia's presentation on AI and its applicability in agriculture and allied sectors as an expert would immensely help journalists selected for Scientific Journalism Programme of PRMM.

She also thanked CAU Imphal vice chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra for the initiative.
