Imphal, May 14 2025: Security forces arrested cadres of various armed outfits during operation conducted in different parts of the state.

As per a release by Manipur Police Control Room, a KCP (PWG) identified as Khundongbam Prithibiraj Meitei alias Sathiba (23) of Heirok Part II Mayai Leikai was rounded up from near Sorojini oil pump, Wangbal under Thoubal police station on Tuesday.

Prithibiraj is also accused of involvement in extortion activities in Thoubal district.

Three persons, including a cadre of the Pambei-led UNLF, have been arrested from Pukhao Ahallup Makha Leikai Waiting Shed on Tuesday in connection with arms deal case.

The arrestees have been identified as Naorem Naocha Meitei alias Chinglakpa (38) of Pukhao Ahallup Awang Leikai, a cadre of Pambei-led UNLF, Leishangthem Inaoton Singh alias Aphao (23) of Pukhao Naharup Makha Leikai and Ayekpam Boiboy Meitei alias Ishanta Meitei (26) of Pukhao Naharup Mayai Leikai.

The security forces also seized an INSAS rifle with magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm calibre, which they were trying to sell for Rs 3.5 lakh, according to the Control Room release.

Another KCP (PWG) cadres identified as Huidrom Jiban (45) of Lilong Nungei Awang Leikai was arrested from Lilong area on Tuesday for involvement in extortion activities.

One mobile handset with SIM card, an Aadhaar card and a two-wheeler have been recovered from his possession.

Similarly, security forces arrested a KCP (MFL) member identified as Salam Karan Singh alias Ningthoulakpa (21) of Ningthoukhong ward No 3 from the same locality.

Two cadres of PREPAK identified as Khangembam Apui Meitei alias Nongpoknganba (26) of Sagang Bazar and Moirangthem Alex Meitei (23) were arrested from near Koirengei Kabui Khul gate on Tuesday along with recovery of two mobile phones from their possession.

Seven UG cadres were also apprehended from Yongkhul village under Tengnoupal police station on Tuesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Lourembam Manoranjan Meitei (26) of Yairipok Khoirom Mathak Leikai, Chingangbam Santosh Meitei (34) of Lamdeng Makha Leikai, Soram Gumba Meitei alias Tonaba (27) of Khonghampat Mayai Leikai and Ngasepam Momon Meitei alias Luhenba (23) of Sinam Mayai Leikai, all PLA cadres; Leiphrakpam Dhananjoy Singh (37) of Yairipok Yambem Mathak Leikai and Konsam Manichandra Meitei (27) of Awang Sekmai Leipat, both cadres of KCP; and KYKL cadre Laishram Rojit Meitei (38) of Wangjing Hodamba Pukhri Achouba Maya.
