MLA airs Thanga AC issues to Governor

Thanga MLA T Robindro met Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, here, on Monday, urging the latter to take up steps to construct pre-fabricated houses for displaced persons currently taking shelter in different relief camps in Thanga assembly constituency.
After meeting the Governor at about 11.30 am, MLA Robindro told media persons that he apprised the Governor about various developmental shortages of Thanga AC and urged the Governor for translating into action.
The first point raised to the Governor was problems faced by the internally displaced persons at different relief camps in Thanga AC.

At least 1,487 people displaced by the ongoing violence since May 3, 2023 are being accommodated at 'Mandap', community halls and schools, he specified, while recalling that proposal made to the previous government for constructing pre-fabricated houses for displaced persons is yet to materialise.
Accordingly, the Governor was urged to take steps for construction of pre-fabricated houses for displaced persons in Thanga AC, said the MLA.
On other issues, Robindro said that a grazing ground at Moirang Khunou was taken over by the government for establishment of the Sangai Ethnic Park with another land of around seven acres used as parking lot The previous government promised to provide alternative land to the affected owners but to no avail till date, he rued, adding that aftermath of the land owners demanding the promised alternative land, the matter was apprised to the Governor along with the urgent necessity for opening a nationalised bank in Thanga AC.
When media persons queried about possible political hand in the sudden transfer of his wife to Jiribam district days after she was out in charge as the SP of Kakching district, Robindro replied that his wife is a police officer and has to follow order of the government as a government servant.
