Cycle rally to kick start from Imphal

Imphal, January 19 2015:
Pune based NGO Sarhad along with Swanand Adventures in association with Manipur's Pedal Attack will organise a cycle rally Call of the Brahmaputra from Imphal
from March 13 .
Director of Sarhad, Sanjeev Shah in a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club said that the main objective of the cycle rally is to let everyone know that North East India is a paradise in its own term.
The rally will start from Imphal on March 13 and culminate at Shillong via Kohima and Guwahati.
Speaking at the occasion, Prashant Talnikar said that the rally would help boost the morale of people of North Eastern States that the entire country is standing firmly behind them.
It is also an attempt to extend solidarity to the people of NE who are facing discrimination and racial attacks in other parts of the country.
The rally would cover four States of the North East in the first phase and the remaining three States in the second phase.
People from different walks of the country would participate in the rally.
So far, 25 participants from Maharashtra have signed up to participate in the event, said Prashant.
The call for the rally is directed towards the youth of the entire Nation to travel and have a sense of belongingness wherever they go, added Sanjeev Shah.
He further said that Sarhad has been providing scholarships and adopted more than 130 orphan students from North East and Jammu and Kashmir.
The NGO works towards bringing up the orphans, widows and victims of violence in the border regions of India.
Under the initiative of Sarhad the cycle rally could bring about a sea change in the tourism sector of Manipur, added president of Pedal Attack, Gomi Sharma.
