Lamka, January 19 2015:
The Congress party which is in power both in the State and the Autonomous District Council today organized a closed-door interaction event apparently with their eyes set on the ADC election that may be held sometime next month.
The AICC General Secretary of North Eastern States V Narayanasamy who addressed the gathering at District Council Hall, along with the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister, apparently claimed that he had visited the State to change the party's tradition of overlooking their workers once an election is held.
But the queries put forward by a handful of ADC members who were present highlighted the party is yet to shed that tradition.
An executive member of the ADC asked why it is hard to get an appointment with the party's top functionaries.
It may be noted here that the ADC members have visited New Delhi several times to seek the implementation of 6th Schedule.
The Congress Councillors have always maintained that the BJP leaders were more passionate to hear them out rather than their own party leaders.
During the ADC team's latest tour in between January 13 to 16 .
the 5 councillors met several Ministers and BJP leaders but their efforts to meet Congress leaders were reportedly a vain attempt.
Though the party's meeting was held at the District Council hall, 5 out of the 26 members including one from BJP attended the meeting.
All MLAs from the district except HAC Chairman Dr Chaltonlien Amo attended the meeting.
The ADC Chairman and others from his Cabinet have left for Mizoram to grace the inauguration of Sialkar ADC yesterday but it is not known if all the 22 Congress ADC members have accompanied the Chairman.
