AJUCA appeals for timely supply of ravi crop seeds

The All Jiribam United Club Association (AJUCA), Jiribam appealed to the Department of Horticulture, Government of Manipur for timely supply of Ravi Crop seeds to the farmers of Jiribam.
In a press meet held at the office of AJUCA, Jiribam, today at 3.00 pm, Secretary in-charge of AJUCA N Dharmendra Meetei said that the Horticulture Department of Jiribam Sub-Division has been distributing ravi crop seeds to the marginal farmers of Jiribam during the last few years.
However, the distribution is always delayed, thereby causing huge expenditure to the farmers in purchase of the crops.
He further said that AJUCA received complaints of delay in distribution of seeds to the farmers.

The Horticulture department had supplied some seeds and pulses of Ravi crops on November 16 and some seeds of onions and cabbage on December 3 to the AJUCA for proper distribution to the farmers of Jiribam.
Meanwhile, he expressed that if the seeds are distributed to the farmers in the right time, the farmers will be able to save their expenditure for buying the seeds from the open markets.
As a social organization of Jiribam, the Secy.
of AJUCA appealed to the concerned authorities for timely distribution of pulses and seeds of ravi crops to the farmers.
Dharmendra Meetei also said that such delay in the official activities of Jiribam are due to the shortage of staff in the offices of Jiribam.
The All Jiribam United Club will conduct a drive to all the offices of Jiribam to find the actual problems in the official activities of Jiribam, he added.
