Imphal, December 23 2024:
Strongly condemning the attempt to malign image of the board by a self-styled question setter named Laishram Rajen nabbed by DESAM, the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) clarified that the board is unrelated with Rajen in any manner.
Addressing media persons at its office Monday, BOSEM controller of examinations Ayam Thoi said higher authority will be approached to take punitive action against Laishram Rajen under 'The Manipur Prevention of Malpractices in High School Leaving Certificate and Higher Secondary Examination Act, 2024' with a formal to the authority concerned.
He commended DESAM and other students' organisations for their proactive role in improving the state's education sector amidst the ongoing unrest situation.
According to Ayam Thoi, BOSEM will look into the school where Laishram Rajen worked earlier and may even revoke recognition if the school is found involved in malpractices in examination.
Rajen will not be allowed to work in any school and recognition of any school found engaging Rajen in future will be annulled, he declared, while rueing that Rajen's act has brought shame to BOSEM.
BOSEM chairman Akham Joykumar also told media persons that Laishram Rajen's claim of copying format of the appointment letter during their visit to Guwahati was completely wrong along with asserting that the board had never issued appointment letter for setting questions to Laishram Rajen.
Joykumar further clarified that he had never discussed on question setting or talked through phone with Rajen.
However, Rajen was among the teachers engaged for mark evaluation in 2024, he added.
