In connection with the murder of school founder Laishram Biren, a joint action committee has been constituted at Kha-Sanjenbam today and the JAC has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding justice.
In addition to booking and punishment of the killers, the other demands of the JAC include adequate compensation to the bereaved family and provision of a suitable Government job to a member of the bereaved family.
Laishram Biren was shot dead by two unidentified youngsters inside the computer room of his school, Pakchao Memorial English School established in the name of his father at about 8.30 pm yesterday.
The assailants also shot at Biren's younger brother Amujao.
He is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
Even though the memorandum was received by the Chief Minister's office, the JAC members could not meet the Chief Minister.
They later met Agriculture Minister N Loken.
Following assurance of the Agriculture Minister to fulfil the JAC's demands, family members have claimed the corpse after post mortem at RIMS today.
The JAC maintained that the corpse was claimed in view of the restless situation prevailing in the State.
