Nine teams enter super league round

Imphal, May 11 2010:
As the league maktches of the 12th Challenge Cup, Veteran Football Tournament, 2010 organised by the Manipur Veteran Football Association (MVFA) concluded today at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal, nine teams have entered into the super league round.
Defending Champion, Nagaland Veteran Football Association, UMO and IVFA entered super league rounds from group A.FVWA, Chingtam and ATVFA entered from group B while UVSA, FLAM and IEVFA entered from group C .
In today's matches, UMO, Yairipok and FVWA beat their respective opponents to win.
The first match was played between UMO and IEVFA.
After playing a keenly contested match, UMO beat IEVFA by a solitary goal to win the match.
Both teams displayed a real tough fight against one another.
However UMO had the luck to win the match when they scored their solitary winning goal through MV Harul in the 17th minute of the match.
IEVFA failed to equalised the score despite of numerous efforts.
The second match was won by FVWA after defeating SIRTI, Chandel 2-0 .
BOth teams displayed a tough fight against one another.
However lack of better coordination among the players of SIRTI can be seen in the entire first half of the match.
Taking full advantage of the situation, FVWA scored two goals against SIRTI in the first half and won the match when SIRTI failed to equalise the score.
Both goals of FVWA were scored by B Sanahal in the 16th andf 36th minutes of the match.
