Imphal, May 11 2010: The deadlock is among the state, Centre and NSCN (IM), people are not part of it, said SPF spokesperson, IFCD minister N Biren said today while relating reporters on the decision taken in another rounds of series of Cabinet meetings held in the last around one week to review the situation arising out of government decision to bar Muivah from entering the state.

The state Cabinet has approved to the payment of ex-gratia to the next of the kin of the deceased to the violence mob at Mao gate and financial assistance to the injured persons as per norms of the state government, minister N Biren said.

The Cabinet also decided to constitute a magisterial inquiry regarding the death of two youths, he said.

Chief Minister, O Ibobi convened the meeting held before the arrival of the Union Home Secretary and Central interlocutor with NSCN(IM), RS Pandey today in Imphal to review the state situation.

Ex-gratia will be paid to the next of kin of the two deceased and financial assistances to the injure persons as per rule of the government as decided by the cabinet, said IFCD minister, N Biren.

While appealing the people in Mao town who left their homes to return back, he said the cabinet has also approved to the deployment of additional Central security forces at Mao as the fallout of the meeting.

The meeting also thoroughly discussed the hardship caused to various communities owing to economic blockade on the national highways.

Blockade on NH-39 for over one month is causing hardship to various communities living in various parts of the state.

Such blockades/disturbances cause hardships and suffering especially to the poorer and weaker sections of society.

It also affects the development of the region, which is already lagging behind other regions of the country, the cabinet considered and decided appealed to lift the blockade in the spirit of peace and harmony and allow free movement of people and goods on all the national highways, Biren said.

Taking advantage of the briefing on Cabinet meeting, the government spokesperson appealed the people not to believe in the remour spread out by some vested interest persons which will amount communal clash.

Government has taken decision to ensure security to all sections of the people.

The state government is also trying its best to procure essential commodities from outside the state through NH-53 for the time being until normalcy resumes on the NH-39, he informed.
