Attacks on CRPF post, police station in Jiribam probed

Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Jiribam has announced initiation of a magisterial inquiry into the attack on a CRPF post (A-Coy, 20 Bn) at Jakuradhor Karong and Borobekra police station by armed militants on November 11 .
A notification issued in this regard by the ADM informed that the terms of reference for the inquiry include ascertaining the facts and circumstances leading to the attack, examining whether there were any security lapses or coordination issues among the security agencies, and establishing the motives and plans of the militants involved.
Furthermore, the inquiry will provide recommendations for remedial measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
The notification further revealed that the inquiry proceedings will take place at the courtroom of the ADM, Jiribam, and urged for support from individuals who are willing or desirous of providing oral evidence or submitting any relevant materials or documents concerning the inquiry.
The order also advised individuals to submit their particulars on plain paper addressed to the ADM, Jiribam, including their full names along with the names of their parents (in block letters), full address where they can be contacted for notices, their age, occupation, contact details, and the circumstances prompting them to provide evidence.
Submissions must be made to the office of the ADM within January 10, 2025, during office hours.
The notification has clarified that no submissions will be entertained after the deadline.
Earlier on November 25, the home department issued an inquiry order towards uncovering the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident and addressing security concerns in the region.
