Jiribam, August 17 2018:
At least 52 persons including 10 children 10 women were pushed back by the Jiribam district police while trying to enter Manipur through the train that comes there every Friday.
In a statement, the SP of Jiribam police said that the 5 2 persons were found travelling without any valid ID documents and travelling tickets and most of them claim to have come to Jiribam and Vangaichungpao for sight-seeing.
As there is apprehension of outsiders coming stealthily into Jiribam in the name of sight-seeing sans valid documents, they were pushed back, said the SP and added that on August 10 too, 37 passengers were also pushed back.
The Railway authority did not inform the State Government and the district administration about the movement of passengers without valid documents, added the SP .
