Imphal, February 17 2009: THE state Cabinet has decided to give Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia to the next of kin of late Dr Thingnam Kishan and Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of late Yumnam Token, Mandal and late Aribam Rajen Sharma, Driver.

The Cabinet has also decided to give a government job to the next of kin of the three deceased persons according to their educational qualifications.

These decisions were taken by the Cabinet at its meeting held at 2 pm today at the cabinet hall of the Chief Minister's Secretariat.

The meeting deeply condoled the untimely demise of Dr Th Kishan, SDO Kasom Khullen, A Rajen Sharma, Driver and Y Token, Mandal.

The Cabinet strongly condemned the merciless killing of the three persons by unknown miscreants.

The Cabinet seriously viewed the incident, and taking into account the seriousness of the killings, decided to hand over the case to the CBI to book the killers immediately.

Today's Cabinet meeting also discussed in minute details various other agenda, and unanimously took decisions accordingly.

In one of the decision, the Cabinet approved appointment of three Professors for the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).

The salary of each of the three Professors will be Rs 1,20,000 per month.

One Principal/Director will also be appointed.

His salary will be Rs 1,30,000 per month.

Free quarters will be provided and vehicle will be allotted.

Three percent of the salary will increase annually, the Cabinet decided.

The Cabinet meeting also approved creation of the post of two Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

One DSP will be deployed at the CM's bungalow and the other will be depoyed at the Raj Bhavan.

This is being done in view of improvement of security measures at the two top VIPs' official bungalows.

The cabinet meeting has also decided to attache Weight and Measures Department under the Department of Industry, which has already been transformed into 'Consumer's Affairs Food and Public Distribution' to the FCS Department.

In another decision regarding Shree Govindaji Temple Board, the Cabinet decided to introduce Shree Govindaji Temple Board, 3rd Amendment Bill and get it passed in the next assembly session.

All Umang Lai (Forest Deities) and their connected activities will be kept under the Board.

On yet another agenda, the Cabinet decided to pay compensation of land to be acquired in expansion of the road from Thong Nambolbi to Haobam Marak Awang that come under the Imphal Municipality areas Rs 377.16 per square feet.

For the land between Haobam Marak Makha and Ningthemcha Karong, the Cabinet has decided to fix the compensation amount at Rs 150 per square feet.

In expansion of the Imphal Airport, the Cabinet has decided to fix the compensation of land as Rs 66.51 per square feet for homestead land and Rs 16.50 per square feet for agricultural land.

In addition to this, a 42% solatium will also be paid.

For the land to be affected when the Oil Depot is shifted from Chingmeirong to Malom, the Cabinet has fixed the compensation amount as Rs 14.90 per square feet for agricultural land.

And extra 42% solatium will also be given to the land owners.
