Bharat Nirman photos draws public attention at Khangabok

Khangabok, November 11 2013: In an attempt to disseminate information about the various developmental schemes of the central government at the grassroots level, a five-day long photo exhibition on the theme 'Bharat Nirman' was set rolling Monday at Khangabok Government High School in Thoubal District.

The five-day long awareness campaign is being organized by the Field Exhibition Office, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal in collaboration with Zonal Education Office, Thoubal.

Inaugurating the campaign as Chief Guest, Kh Surnalata Devi, Adhyaksha, Thoubal said that mass awareness is very much necessary towards ensuring successful implementation of various developmental schemes of the central government.

Calling for frequent holding of such awareness campaign, Surnalata Devi lauded the central government for initiating various development and welfare schemes for the people.

The Adhyaksha also made fervent appeal to the public to take advantage of the photo exhibition in order to understand the program and policies of the government.

Highlighting some of schemes of the central government, Kh Amuba Singh, Zonal Education Officer, Thoubal, who graced the occasion as Functional President, made special mention of SSA and RMSA, which aim at imparting education to all.

Kh Rajmohon Singh, Pradhan, Khangabok - I, who made his presence as Guest of Honour, exhorted the gathering to keep aware of various developmental schemes for successful implementation at the ground level.

Delivering the key-note address, Dr Gin Gangte, IIS, Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP, Imphal highlighted some of the major development schemes undertaken by the central government such as MGNREGS, NRHM, SSA, RMSA, etc.

The Field Exhibition Officer, whilst explaining the purpose of the campaign, drew the attention of the gathering to make introspection whether they have actually benefited from various development and welfare schemes of the central government.

Saying that the various schemes initiated by the central government are meant for the public and not for a single individual, Gin Gangte called upon the public to visit the exhibition hall to know more about the activities of the government.

Earlier, aimed at reaching out at the grassroots level, the Field Exhibition Office, DAVP, Imphal organized similar five-day long campaign at Heirok High School from November 4 - 8 with great success.

The on-going campaign which would end on November 15 is displaying its riches with a collection of 130 photographs.

Significantly, about 50 photographs, relating to NCC of Khangabok Government High School, that are being displayed as part of the exhibition, has enriched the campaign, making it sui generis!!! .
