Drugs seized in Tengnoupal, Kakching districts

In two separate anti-narcotics operations, law enforcement agencies and local organisations seized heroin and other drugs, leading fo the arrest of two individuals.
In the first case, a combined team of Tengnoupal district police and 21 Assam Rifles intercepted a Maruti Swift car (AS 01 ET 3868) in Tengnoupal district on Monday.
During thorough examination of the vehicle at Tengnoupal police station in the presence of an executive magistrate, 19 packets of suspected heroin weighing approximately 205 grams were discovered concealed inside a cavity in the vehicle's dashboard.
The operation also involved personnel from D/124 Ad-hoc MNC/13, BSF and Tengnoupal police.
Authorities also seized several documents and items from the vehicle, including a driving license, Aadhaar card, PAN card, elector photo identity card, an Inner Line Permit (ILP) and a mobile phone, all in the name of the driver, identified as Abdul Rauf Khan (33) son of Abdul Helim Khan of Khandikar village, Tamulpur district, Assam.
A regular case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, PRO IGAR (S) informed in a release that based on credible intelligence, Assam Rifles intercepted two Swift Dzire vehicles suspected of trafficking contraband from Moreh, Tengnoupal district on Monday.
Mobile vehicle check posts (MVCP) were set up near the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) location, with the cooperation of Tengnoupal police.
The vehicles were stppped and searched with the assistance of an Assam Rifles sniffer dog, which confirmed the presence of illegal substances.
During the search at Tengnoupal police station, the suspected contraband was found 'concealed in 19 soap cases.
On the other-hand, members of the All Sora Clubs' Coordinating Committee (ASCCOC) and Anjuman apprehended a man with narcotics during a community-led anti-drug drive at Sora in Kakching district on Monday.
The individual, identified as Md Sharif Khan (24) son of Md Abdul Noor of Sora Karanchi Santhel Leikai, was found in possession of two soap cases suspected to contain heroin, nine SP capsules and three N10 tablets.
He was handed over to Kakching PS along with the seized substances.
Speaking to the media, ASCCOC president ML Zulfiqar Alam Sheikh informed that the organisation is committed to eradicating drug abuse in Sora area and urged the public to cooperate in building a drug-free society, emphasising that the fight against narcotics is not the sole responsibility of Anjuman, local clubs or government agencies, but of every citizen.
