The identity of the UG suspect who was reportedly killed by a combined force of Thoubal district Police Commandos and personnel of 21 Assam Rifles during an encounter at Kalika Lok under Waikhong Police Sta- tion in Thoubal district on March 29 night has been established today.
He was one Laishram Premchand alias Bocha (22) s/o Biren of Sekmaijin Mayai Leikai.
He said to have connection with the proscribed outfit UPPK.
The family members, however, claimed that he had been retired and staying at home due to some psychiatric problems.
A report about his missing from home had been lodged with the Kakching Police Station yesterday.
But on receiving report about a body laying at the mortuary, the family members have gone to check out and found that it was Premchand.
On the other hand, the identity of the person who was found dead at the bus waiting shed of Darchin village, 26 kms to the south of Tengnoupal Police Station in Chandel district on March 29 is yet to be confirmed.
According to a statement issued by CO of Tengnoupal Police Station, the deceased appears to be a Madrassi Muslim with oval face, pointed nose, black hair, brown complexion and of medium height standing 5 feet 4 inches.
He also has moustache.
He was found clad in white grey T-shirt, blue jean pant, black belt, a bead chain around the neck and Mangalstutra around his right wrist.
The body is still laying in the mortuary of RIMS.
