AR pays tribute to bravehearts

Imphal, July 11 2024: Assam Rifles conducted a Wreath Laying Ceremony in honour of the sacrifice of nine bravehearts who laid down their lives in service of the Nation.

According to a release issued by PRO HQ IGAR(South), on July 9, 1987, the Oinam Company Operating Base of 21 Assam Rifles at Senapati District, Manipur, was attacked by insurgents.

During the heavy exchange of fire, Sub Tek Bhadur Rana, Hav Babu R Pllai, Hav Aijun Kumar Rasalli, Hav Ashok Kumar Baruah, Rfn Tarkeshwar Singh, Rfn Subrta Deb, Rfn Dharam Nath Tiwari, Rfn Shubhkaran Singh and Rfn Rajnath Yadav made the supreme sacrifice in made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of the Nation.

Families of the bravehearts were also honoured at different comers of the country as a connection was made with the next of kin to honour their courage and remember the brave heroes.
