The American Nagas representatives along New Hope Ministry Tamenglong had visited the displaced persons from North Cachar Hills district of Assam who has fled to Tousem sub- Division of Tamenglong district of Manipur.
Speaking to Imphal Free Press after returned from the sub- division, Daisok R Panmei, Executive Director of New Hope Ministry Tamenglong in collaboration with American Nagas had visited four relief camps at old and new Mandeu, Aben and Tousem HQs of Tamenglong district on July 30 and had distributed relief materials to all the relief camps.
The relief materials include rice, dals, soaps, kerosene oil and medicines, the spokesman said.
"All the relief camps are running shortage of foods, they demand for more food", the spokesman said.
"Thought we had given something that will not last for a week as there are many displaced persons are staying at the relief camps", the source added.
The displaced persons are almost below 15 years of age, they also needed stationeries as they are school children.
Calling upon the NGOs, individuals and the state government to extend generously to the displaced persons, the spokesman said that no stock of food staffs was found in their relief camps.
Describing the bad roads between Tamenglong to Tousem HQS, the Director of New Hope Ministry Tamenglong said that one has very hard to find the road in the thickly jungle.
"If any emergency alerts in the sub- division there would not be able to save anything" he said.
The New Hope Ministry Tamenglong also urged the concern authority to construct the road properly immediately.
