Girl ILP protestor manhandled

The issue of manhandling a girl protestor during ILP movement by paramilitary personnel has come up in the Assembly session on Monday.
NCP MLA L Ibomcha brought up the issue in the Zero Hour.
It may be mentioned strong protests demanding implementation of ILPS in Manipur have resurfaced under the initiative of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) since the day of the commencement of the Assembly session on June 26.In the past couple of days, student wing of the committee has been attempting to storm the Assembly to push for the demand.
Skirmishes ensued when police tried to stop them.
In one such incident, one paramilitary personnel had allegedly manhandled a girl student, which could be charged as a molestation case.
MLA Ibomcha drew the attention of Home Minister Gaikhangam to verify the culprit/culprits at the earliest and to take strong and exemplary action.
On the other hand, members of JCILPS and women vendors of Ima markets gathered at Shamu Makhong, Imphal on Monday and tried to march upto the State Assembly demanding implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
However, the police foiled the attempt.
It may be mentioned that JCILPS has also called a 19-hour Manipur wide bandh starting midnight of July 6 to put pressure on the Government over the demand.
