Assam Rifles, army celebrate Teachers' Day

As Nation celebrates Teachers' Day, the army and the Assam Rifles too celebrated the day at many schools in the State.
9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Teacher's Day commemorating the birth anniversary of the first President Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan with teachers, staff and students of Assam Rifles Junior High School, Thoubal, Paramount High School, Leikoching, Leishamba Maheikol School, Sawomgbung, Pettigrew Junior High School, Singjamei and Assam Rifles Public School, Keithelmanbi.
Company Commanders delivered lectures on the life of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and his valued contribution to the Indian Education system to motivate the students and the teachers.
Students of the schools presented cultural shows to mark the celebrations.
The teachers were also presented gifts as token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
Meanwhile, Jwalamukhi Battalion under the aegis of Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division celebrated Teacher's Day with the teachers and students of Good Shepherd English School of Kangpokpi district, Bishnulal Govt High School of Motbung, Songbao Memorial Higher Sec School and Jwalamukhi Public School of Senapati district.
Around 20 teachers and 400 students took part in the Teacher's Day celebration, said a statement of PIB (Defence Wing) .
Teachers and students of the schools appreciated the security forces for organising the events.
