Teachers' Day celebrated across districts

As part of the teachers' day celebration across the country, student of HM Higher Secondary School, Keithelmanbi which has completed its 28 years of existence and regarded as one of the finest educational institutions in Kangpokpi District celebrated Teachers' Day at Janglallen Hall to express sincere gratitude to their teachers today.
SDO Champhai, Chunglenmang Kipgen (MCS) graced the impressive occasion as Chief Guest while Seilet Singsit, Secretary HM Hr Sec School attended as functional President while local bodies, church leaders, parents and guardians of the students and the teaching and non-teaching staffs in particular also attended the celebration.
As a mark of tribute and respect to the contribution made by their teachers to the student community and the society as a whole, the student union of the school on behalf of the student community presented a gift each to their teachers through chief guest Chunglenmang Kipgen (MCS).
Apart from the student's presentation, the school authority has also given away several awards in connection with Teachers' Day celebration which was annually organized with an aim to motivate the teachers and student community in various sectors.
HM Award to Teachers instituted by the school founder Seikholet Singsit and his wife in memory of their beloved father was conferred to Seilet Chongloi, Lecturer, Thadou/Thadou-Kuki (Class VIII-XII) for being able to produce brilliant students with letter mark in his subject in the HSLC and HSE, 2018.Tonglen Singson Award in Chemistry, instituted by Ginthenlam Singson, MSc (Chemistry), former Chemistry teacher of the school in memory of his late father Tonglen Singson, was conferred to student Konpahhoi Kipgen, d/o Lunkhoseh Kipgen of Kangpokpi who secured highest mark in Chemistry from the school in HSE, 2018.Topper Ginminlun Sitlhou was conferred HM Award to School Topper in Promotion Examination instituted by the school founder and family while nine students and fifteen students who have secured letter marks in the HSLC and the HSE, 2018 were awarded HM (KJ) Award.
Four students of various categories were also awarded HM Scholarship which carries free admission for securing over-all toppers in the promotion examination while fifteen students were awarded KJ Award for maximum attendance.
Apart from the awards, 108 fresher of the school were warmly greeted during the second session of the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion, SDO Champhai Chunglenmang Kipgen stressed on "Give respect to your teachers whether they deserve it or not", while motivating the student community and expressing concerned over the impolite behavior of the students towards their teachers at present.
He also encouraged the student community to feel fortunate while they can study and give the best effort to earn every possible wisdom and knowledge while conveying his gratitude to all the teachers of the school for their tireless efforts and immense contribution towards bringing good future pillars ofthe nation while encouraging them to consider their profession as a gifted talent in serving the society.
Cultural dance presentation from Nepali, Manipuri, Thadou community from among the students and the thrilling welcome song on the part of the lower class students marked the occasion.
Moreh
As observed annually on the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Teacher's Day was celebrated today at St George High School, Moreh.
Students of the school extended best wishes and paid respect to their teachers and gifted away simple present to the teachers.
Chandel
District Council Administration Chandel organized Teachers Day Celebration 2018 today at Indoor Stadium, Chandel District Headquarter.
Chairman Autonomous District Council (ADC) Chandel Th Joy Lamkang attended the function as Chief Guest, Executive Member Education & PHE of ADC Tongsin Willingson as functional President while members of ADC Chandel Sh Manglem Monsang, KT Hari attended the function as special guest.
Chief Executive Officer ADC Chandel Daryal Juli Anal, Inspector of Schools TK Moshilpha, DI, AI also attended the function.
Around 600 teachers under ADC Chandel attended the Teachers Day Celebration and was celebrated with fervor while eight sincere teachers were honoured for their dedication towards teaching.
Meanwhile, School Managing Committee of Padma Ratna English School Kakching also organized Teachers Day Celebration and modest gifts were presented to teachers and non-teaching staffs of the school.
