Illicit liquor disposed ahead of LS polls

Senapati, April 17 2024:
Senapati Excise Station along with Senapati Police Station have confiscated more than 2000 litres of illicit country liquor including Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) between February 28 till April 12 .
The seized liquor has a local market value of roughly Rs 2,85350 .
In connection with the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024, various brands of excisable articles like IMFL and illicit county liquor (DIC) were confiscated under the provisions of the Manipur Liquor prohibition Act 1991 by the Excise Enforcement Team Senapati District and Police Department Senapati district.
Johnson Hungyo, Officer In-Charge, Excise Station Senapati under the supervision of the Commissioner of Excise, along with Excise Enforcement Team destroyed and burned down the seized IMFL and country liquor (DIC) .
The seized liquor was disposed in the presence of media persons, Taphou Laingmai Village Authority, women activists and the public at 11 am today.
