Imphal, May 02 2014 :
Joining the chorus with other organisations for removal of Agricultural Minister Md.Abdul Nasir from his post as a minister for allegedly using provocative language against a tribal officer, secretary of Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs, Manipur (FATYCM), Letthang Haokip has urged Chief Minister O.Ibobi to take up the matter at the earliest and maintained that delay in action would only aggravate the situation.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the tribal body today submitted a memorandum to the chief minister seeking the immediate removal of the Minister from his post.
The tribal body stated that the act of Minister Abdul Nasir who used highly inflammatory language against a Zonal Educational Officer of Thoubal district who happens to be a tribal, is highly objectionable and his use of abusive words tinged with racially discriminatory language was equally an insult to the whole tribal community in Manipur.
FATYCM stated that it is a very serious matter and that the Minister should have realized that elected members are there to protect the people and not to abuse them.
"There is a clear order from the Supreme Court of India saying, 'Do not take oral orders from your political leaders", but Minister Nasir seems to have ignored such orders", stated Letthang Haokip and added that the ZEO of Thoubal district had done nothing wrong to deserve such treatment.
Considering the seriousness of the issue, the tribal body urged for deliverance of justice by way of removing Minister Abdul Nasir from his post in the interest of the tribals and also the state as a whole.
