Gaikhangam who came to attend the function organised by Manipur Congress Committee at Congress Bhawan said that Government has been trying to bring a solution and perform the last rites of Churachandpur victims as soon as possible.
Representatives will be sent to Churachandpur in the next few days to settle the issue.
Reacting on frequent blockades imposed in the State along the national highways, the Deputy Chief Minister stated these blockades will adversely impact all sections of people irrespective of hills and valley.
While delivering speech on the Rashtriya Sankalp Din occasion, Gaikhangam said that former Indian Prime Miniter Indira Gandhi was a leader who had clear vision.
She contributed a lot to bring unity and development in the country and sacrificed everything for the people till her last breathe.
The leader, who was assassinated by her own bodyguards should be remembered by today's generation, said Gaikhangam.
Chief Minister O Ibobi also paid floral tribute to the photograph of Indian Gandhi during the occasion.
Health Minister Phungjathang Tonsing, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, MLAs and many office bearers of MPCC also attended the function.
