Bishnupur, May 19 2025: District Child Protection Unit, Bishnupur, in collaboration with New Life Foundation, Manipur and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee, Bishnupur, organised a Children's Festival at Glory Children's Home, Thamnapokpi.

The children's festival held under the sub themes "Cultural Exchange and Children's Participation", "Drug to Education and Health", and "We are Against Child Exploitation and Abuse", was attended by Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights chairperson Keisham Pradipkumar Singh and Child Welfare Committee, Bishnupur chairperson Kh Rebati Raman as chief guest and president.

While Social Welfare Department deputy director Konsam Saroja Devi, Bishnupur CMO Dr L Raichandra Singh and Advanced Intermediate College, Moirang principal Y Modhu Singh were the guests of honour.

Delivering the keynote address, New Life Foundation secretary Dr Lamabam Pishak Singh said the festival was organised to provide children with a space to share their thoughts and feelings.

He expressed concern over the increasing drug use in the state, noting that Bishnupur district, in particular, needs focused efforts.

In light of this, Dr Pishak assured that the Foundation will continue to work to ensure a drug-free future for children and youth in the district.

The event featured various cultural performances by children from different children homes, along with an award distribution ceremony to recognise their talents and participation.
