Imphal, February 18 2009: Condemnations have poured in over the killing of SDO/SDM Kasom Khullen, Dr Thingnam Kishan, and his two aides � Aribam Rajen, driver and Yumnam Token, Mandal � from sundry civil and political organizations today apart from the Governor.

Condemning the brutal killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan Singh, MCS, SDO (Kasom Khullen) along with his two subordinates � A Rajen Sharma and Y Token Singh- the Governor Gurbachan Jagat urges the state government to take 'swift' and 'effective' action against the perpetrators of this heinous crime.

"His Excellency, the Governor of Manipur is deeply pained and anguished at the cowardly, dastardly, and brutal killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan Singh, MCS, SDO (Kasom Khullen) along with his two subordinates � A Rajen Sharma and Y Token Singh- after abduction by some unknown persons," said a communique from the Raj Bhavan, Imphal.

The Governor also urges the Government to book the culprits so that the rule of law and respect for authority is maintained, the statement mentioned.

Asserting that Dr Kishan was known to be a man of "Principles" and his death will cause a vacuum not only in the family but also in the State Administration and Manipuri Society, the Governor also shares the grief with the bereaved members of the families at this time of great loss.

The Governor also appeals to the people of the State to come together and share the grief and also to firmly resolve that they would together work for peace and security, so that such incidents are not repeated in future, the Governor's Secretariat statement said.

The Manipur People's Party (MPP) has also conveyed in a statement issued by its secretary S Umananda, its strong condemnation over the killing of Kasom Khulen SDO, Dr Thingnam Kishan and two other employees by unidentified culprits while observing two minutes silence today at its office as a mark of respect and a prayer for their souls to rest in peace.

The MPP also demanded the immediate arrest and punishment of the perpetrators while appealing the people to prevent the occurrence of animosity between the different communities of the state.

The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Councilovernor grieves, communities condemn has also expressed condemnation while urging that the CBI investigation over the killing must be facilitated immediately.

The RJD, Manipur has also strongly condemned the brutal killing of a promising MCS officer.

Condemning the killing incident, the AIYF urged that the perpetrators must be punished before the public.

Seasoned politician, Dr M Nara Singh has also expressed condemnation of the beastly killing of Dr Kishan and his two assistants.

Denouncing the killing of Kasom Khulen SDO and two other employees, the BJP, Manipur Pradesh demanded a judicial inquiry over the killing.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Manipur has also denounced the killing of the MCS officer while demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the killing, according to the press release issued by its state secretariat member, Yumnam Ratan.

In the meantime, the Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) expressed strong condemnation over the killing of Kasom Khulen SDO and his associates while asking the law enforcing agencies to root out such barbaric act from the surface of the earth.

In a press release, the ZU (AMN) general secretary, Dr S Xavier Pamei said that the state government and the so-called 'revolutionary groups' fighting for the cause of the people should deal such inhuman act in the strongest term as per their law and in their own capacity while also appealing the people of the state to pressurize the state government to root out such social evil from the state.

Recalling the past incidents of charring passengers and other unarmed civilians by the underground and the security forces as well, the statement also urged the people to take pledge and oath to oppose and take collective action against any organisation or individual as per custom and tradition of the land.

It also stated that the ZU and Zeliangrong people also share the pain and sorrow of the bereaved families.

The Kabui Mothers' Association (KAMA), Manipur, has registered its strong condemnation and said that the act deserves condemnation from various organisations irrespective of communal affiliations.

It also cautioned the people of the hills to ensure such thing doesn't recur in the future, a press statement of KAMA joint secretary, Ranjita Golmei said.

Taphou Kuki Youth Club, Taphou Women's Union and Taphou Village Authority have strongly condemned the barbaric killing of Kasom Khullen SDO, Dr Thingnam Kishan and two of his staff members by some beastly murderers.

According to a press release signed by Taphou Kuki Youth Club president Gouneo, the Taphou residents' bodies also asked the anti-social elements concerned not to repeat such inhuman act near their village in future.

The Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) and its constituent units � Anal, Maring, Lamkang Chothe, Monshang and Moyon tribes' unions � the Naga Women Union, Chandel, and the Naga Students' Union Chandel have condemned the brutal killing of Dr Kishan, MCS, SDO (Ksom Khullen), A Rajen and Y Token.

In a condemnation and condolence message, CNPO information and publicity secretary, Ch Gabriel stated that the organisations have fully supported the Manipur bandh called by the JAC, and the bandh called by NPO and Tangkhul Long.

It also appealed the people of Manipur to bury communal differences and stand unitedly in such time of trials and challenges to fight against acts against humanity, and undo with communal approach while extending condolences to the bereaved families.

The Anal Naga Taangpi (ANTA)(Anal Naga Union), in a separate statement issued by its president, TS Warngam condemned the inhumane killing of Dr Kishan and his two subordinates while conveying the Anal's people condolence to the bereaved families.

The Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL), Kangleipak also expressed condemnation over the killing of Dr Kishan and two other employees.

Joining the chorus of condemnations over the killing of SDO Dr Thingnam Kishan, the Students' Union of DM College of Arts, where Dr Kishan had taught before joining the administrative service, also condemned the killing of their former teacher and two other staff while demanding fitting action against the culprits.

Decrying the government's reaction over the killing incident involving an SDO and two of his staff, the Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) today lamented that had the government assured the people to punish the culprits in the killing within two days instead of announcing the ex-gratia, the people would trust the government.

The MSF statement issued by its information and publicity secretary, L Umakanta Meetei said that killing of an SDO and two of his staff is an 'open challenge' to the government, but, it said, the government seems to fail to take the challenge.

It said that the people have been hoping that the brave security personnel of the state who have been decorated with awards at several Independence Days and Republic Days would be deployed to book and punish the culprits involved in the killing.

But, it said, the hope was a reversal.

The Human Rights Initiative, Manipur has also lodged a strong denunciation over the killing of Dr Kishan and two of his staff.

Asserting that the officer was a dedicated, outright, open minded and exemplary bureaucrat, the HRI programme executive, Punil Angom, in a press release lamented that had the government authority took effective measures after he was kidnapped at the DC Complex on February 13, the tragic incident could have been averted.

It said that the act ought to be condemned by all organisations cutting across communal lines while urging the Government authorities to punish the culprits and ensure such incident doesn't recur in the future.

The Centre for Organisation Research and Education (CORE) registered its condemnation over the killing of Dr Kishan and two other employees while also demanding judicial inquiry for fair investigation to book the culprits and award punishment to the perpetrators found involved in the ghastly crime, according to a release of CORE issued by its programme coordinator, Namdithiu Pamei.

At the same time, the Jananeta Irawat Foundation for Education, Research, Development and Social Service, Imphal West has registered strong condemnation over the barbaric killing of one of the life member of the foundation, Dr Kishan, while urging the authorities concerned to book the culprits involved in the killing and award them befitting punishment, according to a release of I Foundation, issued by its assistant secretary, Boby Wahengbam.

The Democratic Youth Federation of India, Manipur State committee, while expressing condemnation over the killing of the SDO, Dr Kishan and two of his staff, termed the act of the killing as 'beastly,' and demanded the government to bring out the culprit, according to the press release of the federation issued by its state secretary, S Roma.

The Manipur Secretariat Services Association while lodging strong condemnation over the killing of SDO, Dr Kishan and two other employees, noted that a mental 'threat' disease could infest all employees in case the government doesn't take stern preventive measures of such incident in the future.

Demanding the arrest and punishment for the culprits, the Association also shares the pain and grief of the victims' families.

The All Manipur Government Drivers' and Technicians' Association has also registered their condemnation over the triple killing.

The All Manipur PHED Workers and Employees' Association has also condemned the killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan, and two other government employees.

Joining the choruses of condemnation, the All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association has demanded befitting punishment against the perpetrators of the crime.

The Progressive Writers' Association, Manipur has also condemned the killing of Dr Kishan and two other staff while acknowledging that Dr Kishan was a 'prolific' writer.

Special Volunteers' Association, Manipur has also denounced the killing of Dr Kishan and two other staff.

The Lok Jan Shakti Party has also lodged condemnation over the killing in the same vein.

The Chingtam Apunba Sheishak Lup has also express disapproval of the killing of SDO, Dr Kishan and two of his subordinates.

In the same vein, the All Manipur Democratic Women Association has also joined in condemning the killing.

The All Manipur Nupi Marup has also registered their condemnation over the killing of SDO Dr Kishan and two other employees.

The Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) has also condemned the killing of Dr Kishan.

The Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union, Manipur, has also lodged its condemnation over the killing.

The Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM), ABC Godown Meira Paibi, Khoyathong Bazar; Thangmeiband Women Organisation; Nupi Khunai Lamjing Lup, Sagolshem Lairembi; and Nagamapal Pougeishangbam Leikai Meira Paibi Lup have expressed strong condemnation over the killing of Dr Kishan and two of his helpers while also sharing the sorrow of the families, a release issued by the president of PLMPAM, L Memchoubi conveyed.

Meanwhile, condemning the killing incident, the Singjamei to Lilong United Clubs' Organisation (SLUCO), in a press statement issued by its publicity secretary, Arbind Khuraijam has warned the concerned not to invite another communal flare-up, while saying that it will support any step to be taken by the JAC in this connect.

The International Manipuri Mothers' Association, Mayampat Womens' Welfare Association, Imphal, have also registered their condemnation over the killing incident.
