CCpur, January 22 2020:
Master Lalkansung, a 10-year old boy from Churachandpur, has been awarded the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievements -Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2020 (Bravery) during a solemn function held today at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, reports our correspondent.
President Ram Nath Kovind, in the presence of various dignitaries, including Union Minister for Women & Child Development Smriti Irani presented the award to 22 children from various parts of the country.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a tablet, a medal, a certificate and a citation.
The awardees, apart from participating in the Republic Day parade at New Delhi on January 26, 2020, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this week.
Master Lalkansung, who is the youngest child of Hranglienkhum and Rachel Lalhminghlu, was conferred the prestigious award for saving three girls from drowning at a pond located at Muolbem, Churachandpur on July 2, 2019 .
