Centre for Arena Animation inaugurated

Imphal, January 11 2020: A centre for Arena Animation, which is an animation and multimedia wing of Aptech Ltd, was launched in Imphal today.

The inaugural ceremony of the centre, was organised at the auditorium of Manipur Institute of Management Studies, MU, under the aegis of Arena Animation Imphal and MUSU.

Arena, Imphal, is located at New Checkon.

Manipur University Students' Welfare Dean Th Ratankumar, SP Group Chairman and Managing Director Sanglakpam Preshyojit Sharma, Arena Animation East Region Regional Head Shailesh Tetarway, Impact TV News Editor in Chief Yumnam Rupachandra and RK Sanatombi College of Education Assistant Professor Saterjit Thiyam attended the event as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Speaking at the event, with a power point presentation, Shailesh Tetarway said that Arena Animation was established on 1996 under Aptech Ltd.

Aptech Ltd, which was established around 35 years ago, is a pioneer in the field of computer education.

Arena Study Centres are opened at 200 locations of the country and 20 such centres are present abroad as well.

Aptech Ltd has trained more that 4.50 lakh people till date apart from ensuring employment to many as well, he said.

He continued that many Manipuri youths go to outside States like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengalore etc to learn animation and visual effects (VFX) and added that in collaboration with S Preshyojit Sharma, the idea of launching the animation centre in Manipur was put into action.

The centre is related with media and entertainment industry and it aims to spread knowledge to the people in the field of animation, gaming, VFX and graphics, he added.
