SASA organises get-together of Sulam clubs

Kakching, May 19 2025: A daylong get-together of clubs of Sulam area, Chandel district was organised by Sulam Area Sporting Association (SASA) at Angchang Turf, Chandel Christian on May 17.A brainchild of SASA president Ts Mhanthung Anal, the event was organised to bring together Sulam clubs and maintain brotherhood and unity through sports.

SASA is an apex body of clubs in Sulam (eastern region of Chandel district) established in 1976 to promote and organise sporting activities.

Among others, SASA organises the bi-annual Sulam Sports Week which all the village clubs participate.

The Angchang Turf event inaugurated by SASA sports secretary Db Wiljoy in the presence of Sulam Area Chiefs' Association (SACA) president James Dilbung and executives, Anal Lenruwl Tangpi president BD Ningwar and chiefs of Sulam villages, featured 11 affiliated clubs competing in men's & women's football and volleyball.

Angbrasu defeated Phunchung in the men's football final, while Paraolon A defeated the B team to wrest the women's title.

In volleyball, Laitla defeated Phunchung in the summit clash as Cheengkhu B downed Cheengkhu A to bag the women's crown.

Delivering the vote of thanks, SASA joint secretary Sk Cheenghring appreciated the participating clubs and members, SACA for its generous contribution and individuals who supported the event with their financial contributions.
